'Unthinkable conclusions': more on Islam and terrorism
Continuing the theme of the relationship between Islam and terrorism from this post, one David Thompson has a fine fisk of Jackie Ashley's interview with Melanie Phillips in the Grauniad recently (via the Ablution). I especially recommend reading the exchange between Thompson and 'Jay' in the comments - it's blogging at its best, a model of rational, insightful and civilized debate.

Terrorism is fueled by the Islamic teachings, because that's the only approach they have today. Islam does not spread through preaching but through force as we see and hear Al-Shabab struggle to compel the introduction of sharia law in Somalia. I ,personally have been ,falsely,remanded seven times in Prison being accused of defamation of Islamic faith in Tanzania, but all the times was found guilty.
